Level 2: British Sign Language (BSL)

In Level 2 BSL, you'll learn how to spell words using your hands. This is called fingerspelling. You'll use hand shapes and movements to show each letter. This helps say words you don't know the sign for, like names or big words.

You'll also learn signs for different jobs! Do you want to be a doctor or a teacher when you grow up? You'll explore the characters for those jobs and many more. Understand different types of houses. Also, apartment buildings and houses with a yard. And you'll learn the signs for rooms in a home, like a kitchen, bedroom, and living room.

Another vital part of BSL is talking about your daily routine. You'll explore the signs for things you do every day, like brushing your teeth and getting dressed. Learn signs for things people do when they vacation, like going to the beach or camping. And the signs for different countries, with their flag. This is a fun way to talk about where you've been and where you'd like to go!

In Level 2 BSL, you'll also discover about health. Learn the signs of different sicknesses and for going to the doctor. Explore signs for medical procedures, like getting a shot or having an operation.

Steve Hurley is a British Sign Language (BSL) tutor and Deaf Awareness trainer. He guides communication skills with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. He demonstrates basic sign language vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
