The online safeguarding training course is helpful as a part of induction training for new staff and can also be used as refresher training or ongoing CPD for existing staff.

 

Module 1 Introduction and Definitions 

This module the basics of safeguarding, including the definitions of abuse and neglect. It provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of professionals involved in safeguarding.

Module 2 Types of Abuse and the Rights of Vulnerable Adults

This module will examine the different forms of abuse an adult may be exposed to due to vulnerability and why some adults may be more vulnerable than others. It includes the rights of vulnerable adults.

Module 3 Recognising the Signs of Abuse 

This module focuses on recognising the signs of abuse. It covers physical, emotional, financial, and sexual abuse.  It explains critical topics such as the impact of abuse, signs and symptoms, and the importance of confidentiality and reporting.

Module 4 What to Do if you Suspect Abuse 

This module will explore what employees must do when abuse is alleged or suspected. It will also look at the different types of disclosure and how to respond to these.

Module 5  Safeguarding Legislation

This module will look at the legislation in place to ensure that everyone considered vulnerable is treated similarly, legally and ethically.

 

 

At the end of the course there is a multiple-choice exam. The required pass mark for all modules is 70%. It is essential to achieve the requried pass mark to issue a certificate.

Retake information :

You will be given 3 attempts at each module. If a module is failed on the third attempt,
it will become locked and you need to contact us for the module to be
unlocked again. You are only permitted up to 3 extra attempts per
course.

You can take the exam up to 3 times, and if not successful, should repay the course fee and start again.

80 minutes (Note: This is based on the amount of video content shown and is rounded off.

It does not account in any way for loading time or thinking time on the questions).

 
After successful completion ofthe course the learner will achieve a Certification of Completion from Course Central and Achievement Certificate.

There are no prerequisites for this course. However, it is advised have at least Level 1 understanding for a Level 2 course  and  a Level 2 understanding for a Level 3 course. This helps to contextualise the content delivered through the course and ensure effective learning.
